Lesson of the day.

Mon Dec 15, 2008, 12:51 AM
Over the years, I've learnt an important lesson.

Never get attached to your artwork. Or at least try not to.

Attached to your character/architecture concepts? Sure no problem. I still think of my old character concepts I posted here before the reset. Always wishfully thinking of one day resurrecting them in some sort of higher glory now that my art skills are higher.

But artwork of these concepts are a different matter altogether. I think its important to learn to let go of one's attachment to a particular artpiece, move on and get on with the next one.

Sort of like what would happen if Jackson Pollock drew "Stenograph Figures", then decided he liked it so much everything else he would draw from then on would align closely with it. There would never be a Lavender Mist or Blue Poles.

BAD ANALOGY aside, I suppose its time I got back to work. Today's assignment is to try to at least start 3d modelling a transformable bike, with rigs in place and everything.
